Trying Something Out

On the fediverse I’ve noticed that several musicians put up what I call whine posts to announce new music or promote older songs. I dunno whether it works for a select clientele, but I thought I’d give it a try, as normal posts seem to elicit no response. Anyway, here’s what posted:

Well, I tried dropping a new EP of 4 experimental electronic music songs to #Mirlo.space but was unsuccessful. In a 6 hour marathon session, I got one song uploaded in approximately 30 upload attempts. Lame excuse from Mirlo is that they hadn’t tested uploads from iOS. I don’t have ready access to a desktop machine to see if that works, but Mirlo definitely has an alpha software feel to it.

Anyways I had someone upload the EP to Bandcamp so if you want to give a listen,
https://jaypeach.bandcamp.com/ is the place to go. I’ve gotten a whole 6 listens on Bandcamp in the past thirty days, so I’m not expecting any turnout. But people tell me I need to promote to my meager following here in the fediverse. Not expecting anything to change as engagement is next to zero here compared to other social media platforms.

What do you think the chances are that that’ll work?
