In a post on Music Business Worldwide Neil says:

*Neil Young said he will remove his songs from*[*Amazon Music*](https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/companies/amazon/amazon-music/?ref=all-about-music.ghost.io)*over economic and political concerns, marking his latest campaign against a major tech company.*

*The Canadian and American singer-songwriter disclosed his decision in an October 8* [*post*](https://neilyoungarchives.com/news/1/article?id=Amazon%20No&ref=all-about-music.ghost.io) *on his website, urging fans to abandon* [***Amazon***](https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/companies/amazon/?ref=all-about-music.ghost.io) *and its subsidiaries including *Whole Foods Market*.*

*The removal of his music from Amazon Music would affect subscribers’ access to a catalog of work spanning six decades, including solo hits like Old Man and Harvest Moon.*

*Young criticized Amazon founder *Jeff Bezos* for supporting the Trump administration, while also referencing a government shutdown that he said affected income, safety, and healthcare security for families.*

While I understand his feelings, I also am presented with the fact that Amazon pays 4 times as much money per stream as Shittify does. Yeah, capitalism, if presented with fascism will gravitate towards it, but that’s a natural fact. Or I get the people that listen to my music on Amazon to gravitate toward a platform like (currently) Quobuz, which seems to be properly designed to be acceptable to left wing causes and has a decent payout.
