*Vocals day. I'm still a bit husky after the cold I had last month, but l used it to my advantage in this recording and gave the song a bit of a rough edge with it.*

*Stupid amounts of dynamic range that needed to be compensated for, so there are not one but two compressors in the mastering chain, with different knees to make for a three-gradient compressor.*

*Now have to lug out the Yamaha monitor speakers and listen to how awful it is in a room rather than through headphones.*

*I've become resigned to listening to my music thru several pairs of headphones, and 4 sets of speakers. But I rarely chance the mix based on what l've heard. I mix to get the best from $150 headphones and $50 lEMs.*

*Most gear consumers have are really suboptimal so I just live with the fact that what people listen to is not what I recorded.*
